Antifungal Resistance in Isolates of Aspergillus from a Pig Farm

Antibiotic resistance in fungal isolates is increasing on a global scale. Despite knowledge that pig farmers are occupationally exposed to infectious species of fungi, such as Aspergillus spp., little known regarding their potential exposure antifungal-resistant spp. The aim this study obtain the antifungal profiles taken from different source materials—including airborne dust, surface faeces, and straw—within farm. EUCAST broth microdilution method was used for testing 43 sampled 3 periods inside Danish Seven were obtained, including A. candidus (n = 5), fumigatus glaucus 13), nidulans 2), niger 15), terreus 1), versicolor 2). Overall, 27.9% displayed against at least one antifungal, 11.6% multiple antifungals. most abundant group exhibiting affiliated with niger, itraconazole, voriconazole, caspofungin. One isolate two resistant amphotericin B (MIC ≥ 2 mg/L B). Antibiotic-resistant fungi found all three sampling days.
